Yet To Be Collected
The waves lapped the shore
covering the lone sea shell.
Cast out by the Sea, waiting
to be picked up by a traveler.
The seagulls picked at fish
in the ocean, ready to bring home dinner.
Crabs scuttled across the
sand awaiting their next destination.
The tide slowly receded, pulling back
the creatures into the depths.
Carelessly a man stumbles out
anxious to pick up that sea shell.
The man reaches the place where
the shell laid, and walked on.
Caressing wave greeted him as
he stepped into the warm water.
The waves lulled the man to sleep,
pulling him farther and farther out.
Calmly the man laid down and
didn't struggle.
The waves claimed him.
