Journey to your pinnacle

An instinct of inevitable journey,
and a buried memory of your last,
never worrying but acknowledging.
The pre-determined quest for life.
The bitter cold of windy snowfall,
leaves only remnants here,
only white, gray, and black.
Departure is engaged by red and gold.
The trying travel, the fairly familiar,
the slight satisfaction of new terrain.
I realize i'm not the only one on this trail,
joined by masses from near and far,
we are united by shared desires.
The abundant warmth and indulgences,
the harmonious feeling of sanctuary.
