The box

There is a box,
What is inside?
Was it a toy?
Or tickets to
An amusement park ride?
I wanted to open it,
To know what it contained.
But it had a sign on it,
Which said,
“DO NOT OPEN THIS BOX
OR YOU WILL BE SLAIN!”
I was scared.
But I was also intrigued.
I just wanted to know,
What secrets in the box should be seen.
So I slowly opened the lid.
And what I found,
Was a monkey,
That kicked me in the face with its feet.
That it did.
