Where I Belong
I belong in the meadow
Running, bounding, and skipping on the soft green grass
I am never shut inside by the rain, looking outside a window
With my face pressed up against a sheet of glass
I belong with the stars in the night sky
Shining, glistening, sparking, and leading the way
I am up high
Never frightened away
I belong with the birds
Flying past the clouds so high
Not with the herds
of sheep, lead by shepherds down below, just getting by
I belong with the wild horses
Running free across an open prairie
With strong spirit, beating all forces
Never weary
I belong at the peak of Mount Everest
Looking down below and proud
Because I made it past the test
Letting the obstacles, trials, and pain slip under a cloud
