A New Nation
From the shine of lost stars to the newly rising sun,
From the roar of an angry crowd to bitterness spoken aloud,
A movement begins to atone for the sins of society;
Years of oppression
Accepted as status quo.
Yet there are those who know their place
Is not above or below,
But alongside and within,
Becoming the first not to carry the sin of self-pity and spite.
Rise, a new nation
Built upon the might of all people,
Black or white.
