Picking Flowers
Yesterday you liked daisies
In a field of daisies I was a rose
Now when you see them your eyes turn glazy
People change that’s just how it goes
In a field of lilacs I was a daisy
Today all you looked at were those soft purple petals
People change that’s just how it goes
I guess you like them now because they are gentle
Today all you looked at were roses
Remember when I was red and sweet
I guess you like them now I suppose
I tried to put on a sheet
Remember when I was red and sweet
Now you only look at greens
I tried to put on a sheet
I guess you didn’t like flowers by any means

This was actually a writing assignment to try writing a Pantoum, as you can see it mostly follows the rules. I was inspired to use the flowers when I saw other non-human things being described like human (e.i. colors, weather patterns).
