The Mystical Mountains

Across the glass-like lake I see
a reflection of the mountainous view.
Jagged rocks climb toward the sky
like they are trying to escape the earth.
A beam of light shoots from the heavens
turning the mountain peaks into pure gold.
Taking a wiff of the clear air,
I smell the plants on the green peninsula.
I squeeze my eyes shut like it’s a dream,
but when I open, it is all still there.
