Kisses Taste Like Morning Breath
Through foggy windows on cold winter mornings
I find your kisses.
Planted upon my cheeks and lips,
I find your kisses;
snuggled between your sheets.
What a perfect way
to greet the dawn.
Who knew,
that morning breath
could be so very beautiful?
And it is.
It is a beautiful thing
that flows freely from your lips:
Your floating breath
that keeps me still and safe.
Your strong embrace around me
Ever so warm and comforting
Meanwhile, my hands and my heart
make silent promises
never to let go.
at least of this moment
Our early morning kisses
that are tucked
behind friendship.
Who knew morning breath
could be so very wonderful?
