Existence of True Love
My mother loved my father
But they didn't last very long
My mother was so weak
While alcohol made my father so strong
He would drink, drink, and drink
Morning to night
He washed himself away
Cursing my family with spite
My mother said she never loved him
She said she moved on
But sadness ate at her heart
Until her heart was completely gone
She was so desperate to feel full
That she filled herself with hate
She even turned to special pills
In order to make herself feel great
My father eventually decided to leave
For everyone's better good
He has yet to come back
Sometimes I really wish he would
My mother became so crazy
That she basically left too
She'll never change back
To the person I once knew
I fear the idea of love
Because it's never fair
One person isn't swayed at all
But the other is left in complete despair
So I'll ignore the truth for now
But when push comes to shove
I'll always debate
The existence of true love
