Life Can Change
Abandoned when young, alone since been bred
No mother to love her, no check-ups from doc
Wandering hopeless with one little pearl
A girl all forgotten, and has no clock
Grips onto small hope of having a wed
But one day she sees a beach that’s been fled
The air so inviting, the sand soft like chalk
Her eyes now sewn shut, tight limbs snug and curl
She dreams a dream that small babies talk
And she is is in charge and sings them to bed
Now this dream’s the first that wasn’t a dread
She wakes up in wonder, and almost in shock
What is this feeling surrounding this girl?
Her mind starts to race as she sits on a rock
Unleashed happy thoughts circle in her head
Never she promised her legs would be spread
But she’s been all alone with no one to squack
She stands up tall with a smile and twirls
A new beginning awaits her wood knock
Awaiting a journey in rags she treads
A village she sees as she runs up ahead
Villagers glance knowing she’s not in their flock
A man stops by her and says his name’s Earl
He is very attractive; looks like a jock
Later that month they each promised and wed
She realized she could be happy instead
Without being alone and feeding the croc
Someone can love her and not even hurl
Her life trusting no one, this came as a shock
She’s cared for and loved, and they go ahead
Nine months later they own a baby bed
A small little bundle they take turns to rock
They love and adore their small baby girl
Sometimes Earl takes her strolling out on the dock
Both parents hearts filled with love, cherry red
