Bird Thoughts
“Tweet”, says the free bird that lives on a tree.
“Chirp”, sings the bird. She is welcoming the spring.
Her black eyes close, and she arches her back.
The thoughts, that are wild, of herself as a child.
Of an eagle she dreams, but her feeling’s forbidden.
She’s a songbird of love, she can’t be a hunter.
I fly through the trees, I sing a wild cry.
I am under the sun, I see the animals run.
I soar through the sky. With my very keen eye,
Seeing the critter, my voice is a happy chitter.
I will be a hunter, I will kill the prey.
I… am… free.
I will Be who I want to be.
“Kayi” cries the dove, her love to the eagle.
“Phee” the dove whistles, her soft feathers bristle.
She would love to be free, like an eagle.
This Nature, this Aspiration can not be forbidden!
