As My Heart Beats
My heart beats as I take up my pen
My blood is ink to write again.
Forget,
What I now shall say
Forget,
When night has fled the day.
But listen now,
As twilight creeps,
As my heart beats,
My heart seeps,
Seeps the words into the pen.
My blood is ink to write again.
As my heart beats and beats,
In a queer and jolting time,
Bleeding out the words and rhyme,
Through the seams ripped by my pen,
The stitches bleeding bright,
As my heart dances,
Blood entrances,
Never ending white,
With a wild frenzied fright.
As my heart beats.
