The Undead
The Undead
Wait,
No, nothing
Silence, nothing but silence
Even as the silver mist rolls into the icy graveyard
You hear the wind whisper your name
And the mournful moans of the dead
Calling you, welcoming you
Reaching out for you with ashen hand
You can taste the vile on your tongue
You inhale the icy air
Their lifeless cries growing louder
The dead trees hang over you
You can feel your heart slowing
As the black shadow closes in on you
The smell of wet leaves overwhelms your senses
You feel your knees shaking
The sun is sinking slowly downward now
Your losing control and you feel your eyes slowly shutting
Your heart feels as though it's being clenched
Grasped and squeezed like a balloon
The sun is gone
Your body is lying on the ground
Yet you still remember that feeling
That night when Death grasped your heart with his icy hands
