Stand Tall Girl
You look at the girl with not a thought in mind.
She covers up her pain so well.
But really underneath she has scars the size of your ego.
And secrets that could blanket over Mount Everest
She sees her friend come in with more bruises each day
And another float away due to toxic waste she drinks every night
And yet another giving away everything she has.
Her morals, her love, and her life, to someone who doesn't care
But she still blankets over the pain.
Her family, psh, what family?
Family by definition but not by actions
They eat away at her confidence
Not even trying to learn about her
She's just an article left unread in their lives
She's just a statue they walk past each day,
Without even realizing it
You look at the girl with not a thought in mind.
She covers up her pain so well.
But really underneath she has scars the size of your ego.
And secrets that could blanket over Mount Everest
You'd think there would be more tears
But there's not.
And that's only because she keeps all closed up
She's way above crying herself to sleep
And she knows better than to let people know
Closed up inside and there she stays
All curled up in a ball
As if she were in her mother's womb
And nothing could hurt her there
The only place she feels alive
Is within the soon to be written on page
And the black ink in her hand
That's where her tears go
In between the lines
And within the words she reveals
You look at the girl with not a thought in mind.
She covers up her pain so well.
But really underneath she has scars the size of your ego.
And secrets that could blanket over Mount Everest
So all I have to say to this girl is stand tall and don't give up.
