Seasons
Journey of New Hope
the dirt is empty
I plan a small seed with care
its sprout travels upward
exploding out of the dirt
that small green stem is new hope
Canicule
warm sunlight embrace
valley under the mountains
blue sky, no clouds seen
green grass rustles in the breeze
spring bubbles cheerfully by
Aspen Grove
leaves rustle in wind
sunlight shines through the branches
eyes in bark watch me
thousands of roots intertwined
yellow leaves contrast blue sky
See Forever
cold air fills my lungs
hard cold mountains surround me
a panorama
the canyon breaks the plateau
I strap on my skies and fly

These are a collection of Tonka poems. A tonka is like an extended haiku(a 5,7,5,7,7 syllable pattern). They are about the four seasons in a beautiful mountainous place like Telluride, CO.
