A Moment in Blue
I plunge into the deep, blue ocean,
Completely immersed in the water’s power,
Free of all but one emotion,
The feeling of a minute turning to an hour.
Encircled in an endless blue,
Blue in every existing hue,
The watery curtain above shades me from the burning sun,
I stare into an ocean that lasts forever until my last breath is gone.
Taking in the air, sun, and sky,
The possibilities of the endless blue have passed me by.
The experience truly ends at shore,
Life slows to its steady pace and nothing more.
The exhilaration of the plunge comes to an end,
Water crashes against the rocks begging me to stay,
And still, I leave the beating heart of my best friend.
