I Woke Up Today

I woke up today,
and I got out of bed
My family stared,
but kept quiet for fear of scaring me away
I woke up today,
and I got in the shower
Methodically washed my hair, my body
scrubbed your fingerprints away
I woke up today,
and i got something to eat
Nothing big, just an apple or two
but more than in the past day or two
For you, it may seem like nothing
so what, i got out of bed
but for me it was a victory in the war,
tomorrow the depression might win again, but hey,
I got up today
