Mahatma Gandhi
Mahatma Gandhi, the Great Souled One,
He fell into many hole, not just one.
But he climbed out of them with pride,
He had no help, and he made his ride.
India's independence on the line,
He was the preeminent leader at the time,
Known as "Father of the Nation" because or his ways
Of peaceful protest all those days.
And finally, in 1947 he accomplished his goal.
The British left India, though they took their toll.
But atleast he lived to see that day,
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was his full name.
"You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never imprison my mind." -Mahatma Gandhi
