Mundane
Same bed, same place
Same mirror, same face
Day in, day out
Begging for a break
Same mirror, same face
Different morning, same routine
Begging for a break
From this mundane cycle
Different morning, same routine
Breeding no chance of change
From this mundane cycle
Comes chance of safety
Breeding no chance of change
Is the goal of their system
Here comes a chance of safety
They say
Is the goal of their system
Purely for our good?
We should think so
They say
Purely for our good?
A question they leave unanswered
They say
They know what’s best
A question they leave unanswered
A cry they declare unheard
They know what’s best
Screams the television
A cry they declare unheard
From a nation unrepresented
Scream the television:
“Conform or die”
From a nation unrepresented
Comes this system saying
“Conform or die”
And so we die
This piece is about the growing feeling amongst the next generation of Americans. The feel and need for reform and the destruction of the cycle of poverty and oppression of free thinkers and non conformers
