What I Wish I Could Tell You
When I think about forever
My first thought is of you
Your overwhelming innocence
Never hiding the truth
You hold your head up high
In an effort to be strong
As I begin to cry
Knowing this is wrong
You and me-we aren't the same
But we are best of friends
I can't tell you the truth
Because I don't want it to end
You've stayed right by my side
When my own mother turned away
But if you knew the truth inside
You too, would push me away
