Knowing it's outside my door
Terrifies me to no end.
It screams at me to obey, now,
But what it wants, I will not lend.
Shivering in my very bones,
To my mask, I cannot tend.

It seems to call, beckon to me,
Beg me to come out and play.
This demon writhing in a box,
endlessly trying to get away.
I want to send it far from me,
Want the goul to die, decay.

But, for now, I hear it cry,
For now, feel it wants me to die.
The tortured shrieking in the night,
Makes me, still, shakae with affright.
The sad, lost soul I want to save
That wants me for it's only slave.

The author's comments:
This poem was written about my phobia of Ouija boards. My mother used to keep hers on a shelf right outside of my bedroom, and it lent me many sleepless nights until I finally begged her to move it.
