My family lives inside a junk drawer.
dad is the old flashlight, bright and powerful
But when the energy dies so does the house.
Mom is the white Elmers glue
Which sticks everything together
But fails when bib things come around.
Alex is the Crayola color crayon, colorful and exciting
But fragile when put under pressure.
Eric is the plastic whistle, noisy and obnoxious
But when it stops it's quiet and calm.
Skeeter is the lone marble that rolls around and gets in the way.

This is about my family and how the affect everyone else. I think it really shows what my family is like and really compares them well.

This is neat; I think it's a bit too factual, though, for the comparison. Personally, I prefer metaphors to similies, but that's just my preference. I think, however, that if you use fewer words by getting rid of the likes, it will have a more poetic flow and will be more of a comparison than a statement.

It's really unusual, though, and I very much enjoyed reading it. Great job!
