Healing
The girl in her bedroom,
Crying her heart out.
To the boy that told a heart full of lies.
The biggest lie he told her was,
“I love you”
They naturally grew apart,
But it still hurts her heart.
Everyday she tries to put on a smile,
Even if it’s a fake one for awhile.
Knowing she will be okay,
But feeling she doesn’t want to live another day.
He made her feel like a little kid getting candy,
Telling her
“I will never hurt you”
“I will always love you”
“You make me feel something nobody else has”
It feels like you have absolutely nothing left.
The cold winter trees
Grew their lime colored leaves
While each wilted flower found the
Light again
Each little petal gently placed to
Create a burst of happiness
The sky’s gray, murky clouds
Transformed into white cotton pillows
Strolling down the sidewalk, realizing
How her independence was a sign of
Strength
Her heart mended and stronger than
ever
