Illusion
After that big lie
My illusiones broke.
I can’t go back,
To the fights, lies and broken illusions.
I had a part in the torment.
I caused the fights with my jealousy.
But he started the lies,
That ended with my illusions and his promises.
“ I’ll never leave. “
“ I’ll always be here for you.”
“ I could never stop talking to you.”
Going from talking everyday,
To talking every other day,
To talking every other week,
To talking once a month,
To never…
Our relationship was the best,
According to what everyone said
“ I would like a relationship like yours.”
“ You guys are so happy together.”
But only you and I know the truth.
Our relationship was pure torment.
We hurt each other.
Things were said,
That weren’t meant to be said.
We did things,
That weren’t supposed to be done.
But honestly,
I don’t know about you,
But I would cry to myself,
I really did love you.
I couldn’t believe that my illusions were broken,
I wanted to be with you.
But my illusion of
Having a “happily ever after”
Was crushed with your biggest lie
“ I love you, princess.”
But you didn’t care,
That my jealousy was because,
You weren’t there for me,
When I most needed it.
You didn’t care lying to me.
You didn’t care leaving.
You didn’t care about my illusions,
Of having a “happily ever after.”
So I won’t care about you,
No more, no matter where you are.
But guess what?
“I will always love you because you’re my dad.”
