Elegy to my Grandma
Elegy To My Grandma
Time began to grow short, and your life was deteriorating
you fell asleep peacefully in your bed and woke up to no pain
Her life was spent well, she was missed by many, knowing she was out of pain
Took a lot of weight off our shoulders
I can’t walk in her room without crying
I can’t smell her perfume without thinking about her
I watched your body go across the walk way, I saw tears being shed
I saw lives being torn. I saw hurt in everyone’s eyes wishing
You weren’t getting taken away forever. We looked down on you as you looked down on us
I want you back, I want everything normal.
I wish I could walk into your house and give you the grandest hug.
