Fading for Approval
In a world where worth is weighed in looks, She faded quietly, ignored by books. Skipping meals, chasing a dream, Her silent screams, a muffled scream.
Her body ached, her heart grew weak, A reflection haunted, pale and bleak. Days turned to shadows, thin and grim, A battle fought, on a whim.
Then one day, beneath the bright sun's glare, She fell, too weak, despair laid bare. Alone she lay, in the quiet street, Her journey paused, her defeat complete.
Rescued by hands, gentle and kind, She faced the truth, she had been blind. The cost of beauty, too steep to pay, Her spirit broken, in disarray.
This ballad mourns a soul misled, By cruel standards, her dreams bled. A warning clear, in her tale of sorrow, Seek not your worth in the hollow.
