"When confronted by a difficult problem, you can solve it more easily by reducing it to the question, "How would the Lone Ranger handle this?" --Dilbert

Unfurling tendrils of rust and orange,
You set the world afire under robin-blue skies.
You let the crows perch in your trees
As leaves are shed as a disguise.
Warm weather flees your shadow here
As winter waits with bated breath.
Bring caramel apples and carnivals
While summer dies a skeletal death.
Before the ground is blanketed
With snow of grey and white,
The world is hues of gold and red,
Fireworks before dark night.
The crunch of earth is underfoot
As the geese honk overhead.
Your wind whispers through the trees
Like a poem that once was said.
We’ll don our boots and sweaters now
As you creep in, street by street.
You are finally here, autumn,
Oh season that’s most sweet.

Beautiful writing. So poetic, so eloquent, so specific, so rich. I love your diction and imagery. Absolutely wonderful. A unique take on a general topic. Great work. :D Would you please comment on my work titled the Warmth of Life and An Icy Touch? I would really appreciate it! :D

I agree! I always thought that for something a simple as a tree to NATURALLY have gain so much color, so much gold and orange and red, then something sepecial must be happening. Plus, three of my favorite holidays are in the Fall. I love the imagery you used and the mood behind the thing as a whole. It has what is called 'unity of effect', everything works together to covey the a sense of Fall's.... I can't really think of the word, so I'm gonna say festiveness. It calls summer, the time of fun in the sun, a skelleton. After that it goes on to talk about the falls fireworks of colors and festivals. I love this, 5/5 stars! Could you comment/rate some of my works? It would mean alot and I think you'd like the one called "Lonely Fires".

I like the details and discriptive words in the poem. It truly tells what the season of Autumn is and feels like. Loved it!
