Black and White
Black and White
You are black and I am white
It makes no difference to me
But to those on the outside
Color is all they see
They miss the softness in your touch
The warmth of your brown eyes
The way you dimple when you smile
They just hate and despise
The way you listen with your heart
Is simply wasted on them
You are so amazing in every way
You are the perfect man
What if we were both grey?
What is everything was
There would be no racism
No prejudice just because
You’re black and I am white
But what would our love mean then
If everything was allowed
And "we" weren’t some unspoken sin
But the fact of the matter is
It’s you that makes me whole
You are the most amazing person
I will ever know
But you are black and I am white
It makes no difference to me
But because of those on the outside
"We" can never be
