Then and Now
You broke my heart,
You tore it apart.
You threw it on the ground,
And stomped on it till the beating made no sound.
You didn’t even sigh,
I always wandered why.
You walked away with a smile,
My heart lying there cold and dead for awhile.
Till he came up and picked up the pieces.
He put it back together,
Promised he’d love me forever,
He gives me kisses day and night,
Always holds me tight.
To me he’s very near and dear,
If not for you he would not be here.
So thanks for breaking my heart,
And tearing it apart.
‘Cause now we’re together,
Me and him forever.
