distorted picture
your voice was a breath of fresh air
you were my perfect cup of tea
i painted myself a distorted picture
me and you just how i wanted us to be
at first our fling went just as planned
from the moment that we kissed
our life felt like a fairytale
until it got an unwanted twist
i fell in love so quickly
i was so caught up and naive
you'd painted your picture for someone else
while i was wearing my heart on my sleeve
when you left i was discouraged
though hoping for a better tomorrow
i tried to write of life in splendor
but my words just spelled out sorrow
every time i would feel myself healing
all it took was that one little snap
i'd see you look deep into her evil eyes
and get caught in your vicious rat trap
for months and months i waited
for you to come to your senses
until i slowly realized
i was in love under false pretenses
i opened my eyes to a brand new day
a new girl had also emerged
my thoughts of you had drifted
from my life i had you purged
i have new full blown independence
there's plenty of fish in the sea
so when you decide to forget about her,
dont you dare remember me
