All You Really Need to do is Ask
This mask I wear is not real
It's what I think and not what I feel
I wear this mask to hide away
from the faces that wallow in the gray
You do not see me for who I am
All you see is this pathetic sham
You meet a man but you get a boy
Filled with pain but you see joy
I come in the day though I am the night
You only truly see me in the absence of light
You do not listen when you cannot see
And somehow that dictates who I am to be
Maybe someday I will remove this mask
But all you really need to do is ask
