Forgiven
Alone a man stands
On the corner of a street
When all of a sudden
He's lifted off his feet
He kicks and he screams
And begs for his life
He just wants to go home
To his kids and his wife
But the men take no mercy
On the man they have taken
They beat and they rob him
He will never awaken
Back at home
When his family hears
The tragedy that's happened
They burst into tears
But along with the bad
Comes a little light, just a ray
The police caught the men
And they will surely pay
Several months later
The trial was held
The family was still healing
From the hand they'd been dealt
When the trial was over
There was something to do
The man's brother stood up
And said, "I forgive you."
"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Matthew 5:44
