"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

Whoever said size matters
Never watched an infant grow
(A quarter inch every week, I hear)
An infant who’s still precious
And innocent
And valuable
At every size
And stage of life
To say such a thing
They must never have seen
The gargantuan sequoias
Or watched the miniscule ants
Scurrying up its bark
Whoever said size matters
Probably never knew a person
With an eating disorder
Or a food addiction
Or who cried every day because they weren’t
Tall enough
Petite enough
Skinny enough
Athletic enough
Beautiful enough
Smart or strong enough
For who?
Who is this ridiculously insatiable person?
Well that person, my friend, would be
Whoever said that size matters

When I was 5 my mother told me the key to life is happiness. My teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. She said I didn't understand the assignment. I told her she didn't understand life.
-John Lennon (Revised)

This is amazing. Aboustly amazing. It's being favorited.

The only thing holding us back in life is our desire to stay where we are and not venture further.
~Some random person on the Internet :P

This is a fun, yet vaguely serious poem. I love your word choice and the general theme of the poem. Could you check out some of my work? Be sure to comment AND rate. Thanks!

"I would like to be remembered as a woman who did the best she could with the talent she had."

That was very good! A topic that people can relate too! I loved the () at the very beginning, it was nice! Gave it a little bit of a different feel than a normal poem poem. Liked it!

"A room without books is like a body without a soul."

- Cicero

Roman author, orator, & politician (106 BC - 43 BC)

this poem gave off a neat and different vibe. though this is a topic that has been written about several times before it felt refreshing coming from you! I reallly like your line: "The gargantuan sequoias" would have never even thought of that :) One thing I would recommend is maybe in adding some sensory details or more figurtive language to spice it up? Just a thought!

\\\"Whatever you are, be a good one.\\\"

Very good! The whole "size matters" concept totally ran through the entire poem, good job! Try to add a bit more rhyme and flowing, but other than that, this is great! Keep writing!

I appreciate and love how casual this is. Your message is crucial and very important. Keep writing, you're bound to make a difference one day.
