The Path Less Traveled
the nights are long and lonely
the days are scorching hot
the whole way, people pressuring
making me into something I'm not
all the while, I sing
remembering myself, remembering me
remembering back to times
when everything was easy
it's harder now, but worth it
life is one big test
I've passed all the challenges so far
and I can't wait for the rest
to be the light,
to somehow make a stand
if I could start to fly
I know I'd never land
nothing would drag me down
the road of anger and pain
I've been down it before
I don't want to go back again
