Change
We had been friends
For some years,
We shared many laughs
And even a few tears.
There were secrets
Only we would hold
No one else had any idea
Because it was only you I told.
We promised things would never change
That they’d always stay the same,
Now that you broke your promise
Two can play that game.
You never used to judge me
Based on what I said or did,
All of that completely changed
Once you met that kid.
I told you once
I told you twice
Not to fall
Because he’s nice.
You didn’t listen
So you were hurt,
Okay, so what?
He did the dirt.
He apologized and he tried
Tried to make it right,
Everything about you completely changed
All in one night.
It slowly showed before that night
How you became a mess,
Talkin’ smack like never before
And that I must confess.
That guy’s been my bestfriend
Way before you two had a thing,
You wanted to control me which wouldn’t happen
Because I see no ring.
You won’t get your way
Because you treated me bad,
We don’t even talk no more
And I ain’t even mad.
