Love Never Lasts
You kept my hand warm like a glove,
You were a sweet gift from above,
You are the only guy I would ever love,
When I fell for you it was push comes to shove.
At first I thought you were amazing,
The fire in my heart just kept blazing,
You were the only thing on Earth I could think about,
I hoped our mystery of love would be figured out.
I fell in love with you at first sight,
I finally had the feeling that everything was right,
You told me we would be tight 'til the end,
I don't know what I would do if you weren't my boyfriend.
The all a sudden the tables turned,
Everything in my heart crashed and burned,
You finally smashed my poor defenseless heart,
I should have know it would happened right from the start.
You believed what everybody said except me,
You turned into a jerk instead of my darling baby,
Then you traded me in for that stupid flirt,
Everyone says she is nothing but dirt.
Your just a jerk and you never cared,
And all this time I should have been scared,
But for some reason I decided to believe you,
And I didn't listen to anyone's warnings too.
My parents say you're nothing to cry over,
But I've never told them you're my lucky clover,
People tell me I need to take time to calm down,
Because I am starting to make all of them frown.
I don't know if I will ever find love,
When I'll fall for someone I'll hope it wasn't a shove,
I hope I find someone's hand to be my new glove,
And I hope God sends me a better gift from above.
I know that sooner or later I will get over you,
And find someone that I can call my boo,
Then I'll love as if my hearts never been broken,
And be able to look back and start laughing and joking.

"My role in society, or any artist's or poet's role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all."
I really like your idea. =) The only thing I would say is that it's a bit too long.
But hey, so is my poem Change... check it out? Please give as much feedback as possible. Thanks!
