Ballad of a Love That's Gone
If I were to see you right now,
What would I say to you,
If I were to say a single phrase,
I think it would be, "I love you."
We met such a short time ago,
I let my heart go free,
I met you, then,
It got to be you and me.
Now, we can't see each other,
We're through and it hurts me so,
I kind of wish it didn't happen,
But I guess I'm happy you had to go.
My days are faster,
Now that I'm not with you,
I don't feel the need to watch the time,
I don't feel the happiness I use to.
If I were to talk to you right now,
I think I would say "Hello,"
If I were to say more, "I love you,"
Before I left, it would be "Goodbye, forever."
