Romance and Reason
Romance and reason will not coincide
I return knowing of nothing to gain
Terminal attraction waiting to die
My heart in battle with my brain
I like you yet don’t love at all
Truth is here but fiction’s fun
Though I know that night will fall
I long to bask here in the sun
Our record does not brand me dumb
I’m kissing you ‘cause life is dull
In love with what we could become
I aspire to a glass half full
I know the tune of our blaring song
Your looks do not render me blind
Apart is where we do belong
but I turn around when you’re behind
Romance and reason will not combine
I say I won’t and feel I might.
With demons we dance and with demons we dine
When given forbidden, I take a bite.
