Darling
She watched from her window
As he passed by
Day and night
Uttering a sigh
At his brilliant light
Starting it all
He said Hi
Conversations, day after day
She could not deny
The girl was in love
Laughter and innocence
Was all they shared
A kiss upon her lips
He had not dared
Friends,became a boundary
Years battling the line
She was fatigued
Many times had she given up
Only to realize that she'd
Come right back to him
"Darling, Darling
My midnight star
Come for me please
It's not that far
Darling, Darling"
To pass the time
She found other boys
But compared to him
They were only toys
Back to the same old story
Sitting by the fire
He found himself wanting more
These petty girls
He couldn't learn to adore
One girl stuck in his mind
Never before
Had she seemed like a choice
Of course, he, himself, had created the line
She was the perfect sacrifice
"Come, my darling, to the dance"
She shouted for glee
For she had not seen
What lie ahead
Although usually keen
She let down her guard for him
A love that developed
Over such a long time
Did not last
Worth less than a dime
How didn't she know
"Darling, Darling
My midnight star
Come for me please
It's not that far
Darling, Darling"
Devil horns
Hidden by a daring grin
Come to burn
This story meets its fin
A surprise ending
"Oh dearest boy
Your love is not pure
Kill her by nightfall
That's her only cure
She deserves death"
Her heart was pure
But that did not put an end
The tragedy soon to come
Just around the bend
A horrid murder
Lightning and thunder
Rain pouring down
A newly sharpened knife
He came to her town
"Hello, darling"
A dagger to the heart
Beating, breathing
Inside her it stops
Lying, bleeding
On the ground
Trail of blood
From girl to drain
Evidence disappears
Washed away with the rain
"Darling, why?"
The deed is done
Farewell
She never saw it coming
But she fell
Under his knife
"Darling, Darling
My midnight star
Come for me please
It's not that far
Darling, Darling"
