Little yellow sundress
Cherry lollipop in my fist
Sky blue, grass green
Having my face kissed

Razzmatazz crayon
Finding blue robin’s eggs
Toting my many Polly Pockets
Slurping chocolate milk dregs

Big brown eyes
Tiny flitting fingers
It’s the small details
In my mind that lingers

I wish I were a kid again
Oh, I want it back
To smile that gappy happy smile
As I made a Lego stack

Seventeen is just so hard
Twenty on will be harder still
But I shall always keep her safe in my heart
That little girl in the yellow frill

Favorite Quote:
She makes it through her day, but doesn't just “make it” through her day. She holds within her at all time the faith that she belongs, even when she doesn't belong. She belongs to the world; she belongs in her life; her heart and mind and soul belong

I like this a lot! The emotion and the ideas you were trying to convey were clear. The rhythm is a little choppy, I would suggest finding a different wording for "having my face kissed", or a different though of childhood. Also, "it's the small details, in my mind the lingers" should be "in my mind that linger" (singular) Over-all, very sweet poem
