Dead Flowers
See those dead flowers
sitting on the window sill?
They've been there weeks now,
the only proof that your love is real.
Your words have disappeared
because talk is cheap.
And I know you've forgotten
that kiss on your cheek.
You remember that party
we left together?
How we sat in a field
and talked for forever?
I'll have had these flowers
six weeks tomorrow.
Maybe in six more
they'll take away the sorrow.
