La Valse des Noyés (The Waltz of the Drowned)
Those little children!
They hold it well,
but they haven't gone
nearly as far as we.
They don't depend
on this stuff,
this bliss
quite as fully as me.
They never gulp
their sorrows down.
They only sip lightly.
And they float along
a merry river
while giggling brightly.
And here I am.
Drowning in an ocean.
An ocean filled with
sharks and toxic chemicals.
And I just can't seem
to keep my head,
my head
above the water.
