Beach Cycles
Washed ashore
by a wave of adrenaline,
I lay in the sweltering sun
that is fatigue.
It holds me hostage,
threatens me if I move
so I sit there in silence
so bittersweet.
Motivation returns
after days of rest.
I can stand and
the rehab begins.
I've regained full strength.
The time has come
for me to face the harsh ocean
once again.
