For the Boy Without a Voice
The letter laying on the cold floor
“How could he want anything more?”
The tears fall too late
“How could this be his fate?”
“Our son can’t go to hell”
Do they know how much he was pushed before he fell?
“How could he be so selfish?”
When he did it he felt selfless
Without a second glance behind
“How blank was his mind?”
It happened the second they turned away
“Why didn’t he just stay?”
“Who harmed this innocent boy?”
A question they didn’t think to deploy
“Why would he do this to himself?”
They can’t ask a corpse questions, I’ve tried myself
