This Symbol of Water
the coming of the rain with the clouds and the shakes
and the mornings we’re falling and shaking and falling
and mid-days we’re smoking and moving and turning
and not thinking too much of impending rain
the arrival of water downtown in the tall grass
and it’s dripping from trees and off of our noses
heating the concrete, creating reactions
ringing your curls in such discreet beauty
the staying of the rain when i’m safe and indoors
and writing love poems for the rain on your curls
and writing love poems for the symbol of water
and how you run through me
and feed me like water
i wish to feel you under hot humid weather!
in rainforest rain
in this heavy jungle.
