No Hope

Here I lay aloft this bench
and stare at those who pass my place.
Those alone and those with friends,
and those who swear to keep no space.
Then I stand, begin to tread
and gain a quicker walking pace,
for I can't stand the sight of those with hope upon their glowing face.
