Mistake
I remember it like it was yesterday
The day I broke your heart
I didn’t know then that doing so
What tear my world apart
I thought that I needed to find myself
To do what a mature person does
I imagined a different person for you
Someone better than who I was
I loved you too much, it’s as simple as that
So much that I forget about me
I forgot what I stood for because when I was around you
The “me” that you loved was who I wanted to be
I thought that a break from you would turn me good
And the freedom would set my soul free
But happiness was nowhere to be found
For the only happiness I ever knew was between you and me
