Memories of Us
The past is all around me
It’s written on the wall
Memories surround me
As I’m drifting down the hall
I remember all the waiting
All the letters in a drawer
I still have the bracelet that
You once promised to return for
I’m walking streets that we were on
I’m sitting in our loft
My tears fall on the cheeks you kissed
Your lips were always soft
I used to fall asleep on you
As you gently held me tight
We’d talk on the phone, lose track of time,
And easily stay up all night
My notebooks are filled with your name
And numbers from our countdowns
We loved each other effortlessly
Even from different towns
Your smile was the best sight
It reminded me that life was fine
I still dream about what it would be like
If you could still be mine
