Girl Unobserved

Girl unobserved,
Comforted by the grace of the written word
Come alive off a page;
A thousand magical worlds
Begging to take her hands.

Girl unobserved,
Building her castles of glass,
A stone throw away from destruction,
From shattering into millions of irreparable pieces
Threatening to cause more pain

Girl unobserved,
Her freckled face
And imaginary state of mind,
Setting a stage for her ethereal dreams;
Her arm reaching for the stars and all that lies beyond

Girl unobserved,
Under the weight of the world,
Feeling a constant stare like that of Dr. Eckleburg;
Quick to judge her every move
And extinguish her bright flame

Girl unobserved,
Midway through her journey of life,
Searching for her path to take;
Wary and daunted
That she may never find the simpler pleasures of existence.

Girl unobserved,
Her life steady like clockwork,
Searching for a way to escape
This dark abyss of regularity
Wishing to seek her great perhaps

Girl unobserved,
A heart of steel,
Thrown hurdles day by day,
Continues to run towards
Her never disappearing green light

Wow. Girl Unobserved is actually a good poem. I myself hate any poetry except those in the Dr. Seuss category, but I definitely would not mind readinf this again. Moreover, I would read it again. This is real. This is something I understand, something I think applies to real life. I understand this poetry, so I do like it. I just wish I could understand other poetry, that it would speak to me like this. This is...great.
