Old Memories Behind
My home is where my heart is.
I cry out, a stolen voice echoes in the distance,
something I can’t ignore
Tucked away deep down
are hidden wounds, open sores
from the words you said
I’m the only one who bears
Forgotten, abandoned isolated
A memory surfaces of you
My heart ripped out in its many pieces
I’m leaving home and old memories behind
Maybe one day I’ll get you off my mind
For now I leave home and old memories behind.
